Pinehurst No. 2

Pinehurst No. 2 is the crown jewel of the Pinehurst Resort, a masterpiece by Donald Ross that has hosted more single golf championships than any other course in America. Restored in 2011 by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore to Ross's original vision, the course features native sandy waste areas, wiregrass, and the signature convex, turtle-back greens that reject anything less than a perfectly struck approach. The layout winds through towering longleaf pines, creating a serene, cathedral-like atmosphere. There are no water hazards, but the strategic bunkering and green complexes make every hole a puzzle. Par is always a good score here. The sandy soil provides firm, fast conditions year-round, and the walking-only policy preserves the timeless ambiance Ross intended.
